This
example shows how to configure Gmail to forward
all mail to a 'POP' account, such as your
Outlook Express account or Apple Mail.
- You can
set up a rule in your Outlook Express account
to sort the forwarded mail. You won't have to
login to Gmail.
- Your Gmail
address can be your 'public' address, and
your POP address can be hidden.
- Note Gmail
identifies mail that it forwards, by
including a forwarding information line in
the header, for example "Delivered-To:
exterminate.all.spammers@gmail.com".
- You can
then use Rules
in Outlook
Express
or Rules
In Apple
Mail
to automatically sort the mail into specified
folders.
- Opinion --
I think using this page to forward to your
POP account is better than setting up the
Rule inside Gmail, as described on related
Page G3.
